Ramsar is a popular sea resort for Iranians, offering visitors hot springs, a view of the green forests of the Alborz Mountains, access to the Caspian coast.
Markouh Castle: The ruins of Markouh Fortress are located in the Markouh Mountain east of the Katalem district of Ramsar. The fortress is believed to have been a Sassanid structure, which was used for defense against enemy aggression in different Islamic eras.
Today, only four sections of the curtain wall surrounding the fortress and the towers stand. The castle was registered as a National Heritage Site in 2001.
Hot Mineral Springs: The hot mineral springs located at the heart of this city have therapeutic properties and are said to benefit those suffering from rheumatism, skin disorders and joint pain.
Javaher Deh Village: Javaher Deh is one of the popular natural attractions of the city. It is a beautiful village located 27 kilometers from Ramsar and at an elevation of 2000 meters in the Alborz Mountains. The village is popular because of its lush landscape, tall mountains and mineral springs.

Caspian Museum: Ramsar Palace was established in a 60,000-square-meter garden in 1937 and was used as the summer residence of the Pahlavi family. This single-story rectangular building is entirely made of marble and was turned into a museum in 2000.
Ramsar Old Hotel: Ramsar Old Hotel has Art Deco architecture and was built by German architects during the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi. Construction of the hotel began in 1932 and was completed three years later. It was built over a 5,000-square-meter area in three stories.
