Tabriz is one of the historical capitals of Iran, and the present capital of East Azerbaijan Province with one of the oldest and largest covered bazaars in the world, that played a major role in Iran's recent history.

Tabriz is known as the city of compassion in Iran, a city with very warm heart Azari who eagerly accept guest any time of the year. 25% of Iran's population is Azari; who are Iranian Azarbaijanis and live mostly in the northwest of the country. They are commonly called 'Turks' because of their Turkic dialect.
