Esther & Mordecai Tomb: (08:00-noon & 15:00-18:00 Sun-Thu, 08:00-noon Friday) dating back to 14th-century; Esther and Mordecai tomb tower was once is considered as a holy shrine in Jewish belief in iran. It is located in the western city of Hamadan.

The two heroes (Esther & Mordecai) are of great respect among the Jewish people, and they cause great historical link between Persian and Jewish people. A queen of the Persian Empire in the Hebrew Bible, Esther is a heroine of the Biblical Book of Esther which is named after her.

The mausoleum is a brick construction that shelters two tombs of Esther and Mordecai, where is visited by Jewish pilgrims from all over the world. The tomb is adorned with some Hebrew inscription.

BuAli Sina (Avi-cenna) Mausoleum: (08:00-18:00 summer, 08:00-16:00 winter) located south of Khomeini Square on BuAli Sina Avenue, is located the BuALi Sina mausoleum. Built in the year 1954, this tower is composed of a conical roof held up by twelve tall pillars around an empty central space.

It has a single-room museum of Avicenna memorabilia, his tombstone, a small library and a display on medicinal herbs. But the tower itself is better observed from a distance.

BuAli Sina is considered as  one of the most influential and criticized scholars both in the Islamic world and in the West.

Baba Taher Mausoleum: (08:00-17:30) Baba Taher Mausoleum is located in the northern part of Hamadan in a square with his name. Baba Taher is known as one of the most respectable poets in Iranian literature. Little is known about his life. He was born and lived in Hamadan; with the nickname Baba Taher-e Oryan, which suggests that he may have been a wandering dervish.

Baba Taher Mausoleum is based on an octagonal form with 8 columns around the main building and a beautiful turquoise dome-shaped prism. Inside of the mausoleum, there are 24 couplet poems carvings on 24 marmar stone plates and have magnificent motifs tile decoration under the ceiling. The structure of the mausoleum has been renovated and the main tomb goes back to the Saljuk era when an Octagonal brick tower was built on Baba Taher’s tomb. This tower was replaced by another structure in the Pahlavi period. The current structure was built in 1975.

Alavian Dome: (08:00-19:00) Alavian Dome is a well-designed 12th century mausoleum of the Alavi family, the pre-eminent family in the town during most of the Seljuk period. It is probably the most noteworthy monument in Hamadan for its outstanding quality and stucco ornamentation. It has a magnificent decoration including whirling floral motifs on the exterior walls and intricate geometric designs on its Mehrab.

Hegmataneh Hill: (08:00-16:00 Thu-Sun, 08:00-noon Mon) Hegmataneh  means 'gathering place' in Persian , where is a historic hill with which dates back to the Median period with an underground city. It covers an area of about 30 hectares and is located in the old section of Hamedan city in the Ekbatan Street.

You can visit a great variety of Parthian modern architectural systems of urban areas; parallel crossings include symmetric buildings and water supply system which shows their creators special talent.

Many valuable findings including gold and silver dishes have been found in the excavations, ones which are held in Iranian and foreign museums.
