There are many forms of transportation in Tehran to use. It depends on our destination and time which one to choose.

Taxi:

There are usually taxis available in the city, which you can have a private one by paying a little more, or share with other passengers.

Metro:

The metro is an affordable and maybe best option in Tehran. There are lines available to take you where you want to go in the city. The train cars are segregated in the Metro, so women will need to sit in a certain cabins. You need to agree in advance which stop to exit the train.

Bus:

The bus is a great way to travel in the city and can get you where you want to go, but it can be very crowded. They are very affordable and have a lot of routes around in the city, but be aware that they are often filled during some of the busiest times of day.
